Yesterday Tshwane mayor Randall Williams announced his plans to resign at the end of the month. He says it’s for the good of the DA-led coalition running the city, but it was also likely to avoid today’s planned motion of no confidence. At the same time, the Auditor General’s report on the capital city is not pretty, with an adverse audit finding for the 2021/22 financial year. So what next for Tshwane?
