
The community of Empola in Marrianhill, outside Durban, has decided to build a new bridge after the one they had been using was washed away by the recent floods. The community believes the temporary measure will help them to cross the river, especially pupils who need to get to school.
But the move has raised safety concerns in some quarters. Now the community is asking for help from the government and all sectors of the society. SABC News reporter Thulani Msimang is following the story for us.
