Travel Indaba | Emirates Airlines talk about the tourism sector post-COVID-19 restrictions

The Durban International Convention Centre has been a hive of activity over the past couple of days as Africa’s Travel Indaba is currently underway.

This as South Africa tries to use tourism as a means to recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent restrictions.

Returning after a 2-year hiatus – the Indaba sees scores of stakeholders in the travel & tourism industry gather to showcase what the country and continent have to offer.

One such stakeholder is Emirates airlines – which has recently reinstated some of its routes to and from the continent after having earlier stopped them due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Afzal Parambil is Emirates Airlines’ Regional Manager for Southern Africa. He speaks to SABC News.
