The delay in moving the liquid fuels tank farm from the Port of Port Elizabeth to the Ngqura harbour and the planned closure of the existing tank farm, jeopardised the operations of Orion Engineered Carbons. A collaborative project between OEC and the Coega special economic zone is providing a solution for the bulk supply of raw material to the producer. The project, worth R265 million, entails the construction of two 18 000 cubic metre storage tanks and the required infrastructure in the SEZ for the storage of carbon black oil that will be delivered through the port of Ngqura.
