
President Cyril Ramaphosa has been criticised for not having a plan to improve the country’s socio-economic fortunes. The establishment of a new ministry of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation this week seeks to address this and ramp up government’s ability to deliver on its mandate. There are however those that are sceptical about the state’s commitment as well as capability to produce a viable framework to take South Africa forward.
