
The National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU) has raised concern over what it describes, as the prevailing, worsening state of the country’s healthcare sector. NEHAWU has launched a public service delivery campaign in Gauteng and the Eastern Cape, calling for the sector to be transformed. The workers have raised a lack of resources at some facilities due to what they say, is inadequate funding of the healthcare sector, rampant corruption, understaffing and poor wages.
