Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has rallied behind Victorian Opposition leader Mathew Guy as his party faces an uphill battle to win the November state election.
Mr Abbott acknowledged the Victorian opposition has some fair ground to make up if it hopes to beat the incumbent government at this year’s state election.
“I accept that – but the fact is the Andrews government has been a seriously bad government – it’s been ethically challenged, confidence challenged,” Mr Abbott told Sky News Australia.
Mr Abbott said the Andrews government has been the “worst government in Australia’s modern history”.
