Team South Africa heads to the United States for the World Athletics Championships

Athletics South Africa is expecting a much-improved performance from Team South Africa in this year’s World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon in the United States.

Team South Africa has sent a strong team of 40 athletes made up of youth and experience.

South African sprinters are the overwhelming favourites to bring back some medals in different distances.

These include men’s four hundred metre world record holder Wayne van Niekerk, and men’s hundred metre sprinter Akani Simbine.
