Mourners are gathering as Japan prepares to bid farewell to Shinzo Abe.
He was gunned down at a campaign rally last week, during a campaign speech in the western city of Nara.
The killing stunned the country where political violence and gun crime are rare.
Abe, the country’s longest-serving leader, led Japan in two stints as prime minister, the longer from 2012 to 2020.
