Exactly 30 years ago on this day, around 40 people were killed in what has gone down the annals of history as the Boipatong Massacre. They were allegedly killed in their sleep by apartheid police and IFP supporters. The massacre nearly collapsed the CODESA talks, with the ANC abandoning negotiations after accusing the FW De Klerk government of being complicit in the killings.
