
The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention says it is working with all countries on the continent to step up their surveillance for monkeypox. It says so far the 4 African countries that have confirmed over 1 400 cases since the year began are locations where the disease is known to be endemic. The World Health Organisation is concerned that cases of monkeypox are being reported in countries, including Europe, where it is not endemic.
