South Africa ranks very poorly when it comes to labour relations. And this has been highlighted by the strike at the Sibanye-Stillwater gold mines. Sibany-Stillwater employees have been camping outside the Union Buildings in Pretoria asking the President to intervene in their almost three month long strike.

Meanwhile Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Gwede Mantash, has warned that a growing tendency by mining executives to insult the state is detrimental to the resources sector.
