Water and Sanitation Minister, Senzo Mchunu, told parliament that his department has a plan to resolve problems relating to water and sanitation in the country. He says the plan includes repairing dilapidated infrastructure, tackling water pollution and regulating the rising price of water. Opposition parties however have warned that the country’s water supply infrastructure is in danger of collapse. Sanitation Ambassadors, An organisation dedicated to eradicating pit latrines in schools has developed an Environmentally friendly toilet system and its founder Birger Lundgren told SABC News that new technologies and new thinking can solve South Africa’s sanitation problems in a very short time.
