President Cyril Ramaphosa has opened the Fifth Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour. It is being hosted by South Africa together with the International Labour Organisation. For the first time the conference is being held on African soil at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban. It kicked off today and will run until Friday.
The conference brings together stakeholders from around the world to share ideas, advance policies and commit to eliminating child labour.
The UN members have made a collective commitment to end child labour by 2025.
To discuss we’re joined by Unathi Batyashe.
