
The ANC wants government to purchase its own oil refinery and to further look into oil and gas exploration.
The party has been holding a Special National Executive Committee meeting today, to finalize discussion documents for the upcoming Policy Conference. Top of agenda is the Economic Transformation Sub-Committee proposals of opening up South Africa’s offshore acreage to international oil companies for the exploration of oil and gas.
The National Executive Committee of the ANC has been meeting today.
It is the highest decision making body between conferences.
The party says this is to process policy discussion documents.
On the table are policy proposals including reportedly an idea that farmers be asked to donate land to black emerging farmers.
The Sunday Times is reporting that the party also wants members to discuss which SOEs to keep, merge or privatize.
