An estimated 16 000 African students studying in Ukraine worried about their future

An estimated 16 000 African students who were living in Ukraine are now scrambling to continue their studies. Many had a traumatic time fleeing the Russia-Ukraine conflict, amid reports of racial abuse at the border. The conflict has left many African students with difficult choices – and left some with the prospect of not completing their studies. Mandisa Malinidisa studied at the Kharkiv National Medical University, shes is one of the first few students who was evacuated from Ukraine and returned back home following the intensifying of the Russian invasion in Ukraine.
