The Police Ministry has welcomed President Cyril Ramaphosa’s appointment of the new Police Commissioner, Fannie Masemola. General Masemola is a seasoned police officer who also served as Deputy Police Commissioner.
The president says Masemola helped with the de-escalation of violence in KwaZulu-Natal after the 1994 elections as well as drastically reducing cash-in-transit crimes around 2016. South African Police Union spokesperson Lesiba Thobakgale on the appointment.
