Stadium debacle | Multimillion rand facility a white elephant

Is it vandalism or neglect? The Philippi Stadium in Cape Town is a shadow of its former self, needing more than R50-million to be repaired. The Western Cape Arts and Culture Department is denying that it was last used in 2014, when it was leased to Chippa United. It says the facility fell into disrepair in June last year due to vandalism. Residents however are blaming Arts and Culture and Public Works for failing to maintain the former 2010 fan park. eNCA’s Nobesuthu Hejana reports. Courtesy #DStv403
