Police in Mpumalanga are searching for a man who attacked and robbed the world renowned Ndebele artist, Doctor Esther Mahlangu.
The house robbery happened on Saturday in Mahlangu’s home in Siyabuswa near Kwamhlanga. The 87-year-old was robbed of her personal firearm as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.
She also suffered facial injuries after the robber punched and strangled her until she lost consciousness.
After the suspect fled, Mahlangu regained consciousness and called the police.
