Sugar tax cost investment and jobs

The SA Cane Growers Association says the sugar tax has left a bitter taste in their mouth. Ahead of tomorrow’s budget speech, they’re arguing that the tax has already cost the country in terms of investment, GDP and jobs. According to a NEDLAC study the sugar tax has cost South Africa 16 000 jobs and more than R2-billion in the first year of its implementation alone.
