Overbooking lands carrier in competition turbulence

Flysafair is pushing back against claims it contravened the law by overbooking flights.

The National Consumer Commission found thousands of seats were overbooks between November 2024 and January 2025.

But Flysafair says the practice of overbooking is legal and practiced globally.

The Commission has referred the matter to the National Consumer Tribunal which may impose a fine of up to 10% of Flysafair’s annual turnover. #eNCA
