Key taxi industry figures were arrested in Cape Town, Matatiele, and Nelspruit during a take-down operation. Six men and a woman, aged 35 to 65, appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court. They are accused of acting together between 2021 and 2023 to torment, intimidate, and extort major long-distance bus operators.
