
On 14 January, a low-pressure system that formed over Mozambique moved into South Africa’s Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces, triggering devastating floods. Homes were destroyed, roads washed away and more than 30 people lost their lives. As communities grappled with the aftermath, residents also came together to support neighbours in need, revealing both the scale of the disaster and the resilience of those affected.
