Escalating gang violence in the Western Cape appears to have finally caught the attention of those in power. This week, acting Police Minister, Firoz Cachalia, National Police Commissioner, Fannie Masemola and other senior officials descended on the province. Several hours of meetings and engagements were held to get to the root cause of the escalating violence. eNCA’s Ayesha Ismail reports that even with SAPS top brass present, the shooting and killing continued unabated.
