Western Cape taxi violence

Western Cape Mobility MEC, Isaac Sileku, has threatened to seek an interdict and close taxi ranks if the violence between the Cata and Codeta associations continues. Since the weekend, six drivers have been killed, and nine other people have been injured, including passengers. The dispute is over the Somerset West taxi rank, where both associations had agreed to operate on a fifty-fifty basis. Police have yet to make any arrests. eNCA’s Nobesuthu Hejana reports.
