Ravele overcomes hurdles as sports administrator

Muditambi Ravele is an accomplished administrator, rising from the proverbial dusty streets of Soweto to making a name for herself in the fiercely competitive, testosterone-filled world of sport. Ravele has held positions at the governing bodies of boxing, netball, wheelchair tennis, and cricket, among others. A long way away from a time when the apartheid government restricted access to sport, and teaching was one of the few options available for black women. eNCA’s Hloni Mtimkulu sat down with Ravele, who wrote this letter to her younger self.
