Residents of Magogong near Taung without water in 29 years of democracy

Twenty-nine years of democracy, but residents of Magogong near Taung in North West still struggle to access a steady supply of clean drinking water. Residents in the village say frequent water outages have forced them to source water from canals supplying the Vaalharts irrigation scheme.
The lack of barricades around the canals is also a concern as many children and animals have drowned in them.
