Sky News Political Reporter Joel Philp says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s upcoming speech at the Woodford Folk Festival tells festival-goers by December next year a “referendum on an Indigenous Voice to Parliament will have taken place”.
A draft of the speech says “momentum is growing” as it names governments, churches and sporting codes among just a few of its supporters.
“This could be an inclusive moment of national unity and reconciliation,” Mr Albanese has drafted.
