Emergency Management Minister Murray Watt says insurers must complete “their end of the bargain” after the government have committed investment into mitigation, and have discussed the issue of building on floodplains.
“Our government is now doing some of the things that insurers said were necessary to bring down insurance premiums,” Mr Watt told Sky News Australia.
“My call to the insurers is, well if we’re doing our end of the bargain, you’ve got to do yours.”
