Forbes resident John Clayton says the whole town is anxious as flood levels are likely to break the 1952 peak.
“It’s sort of a bit of a ghost town in the CBD here,” he told Sky News Australia.
Mr Clayton said the town will rebuild and “come out stronger” following the floods.
“We’ll just hope and pray for the best that it stops where it stops, and we can start the rebuilding process,” he said.
