Former foreign affairs minister Alexander Downer says he thinks it’s “very unlikely” former UK prime minister Boris Johnson will get the 100 nominations he needs to enter the parliamentary stage of the prime ministership contest.
He said it’s “too soon” for Mr Johnson and it would be “a bit incredible” if the party brought him back now.
“In a year’s time, that might’ve been different, but I think now it’s just too soon,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
