
National Australia Bank’s Quarterly Business Survey shows business conditions remained strong in the September quarter – despite headwinds from inflation and rising interest rates.
Consumers keep spending money and are yet to tighten up their wallets.
Business confidence strengthened in Q3 trading conditions and employment edged higher, while profitability edged lower but is still at high levels.
NAB says conditions eased in manufacturing and retail but lifted elsewhere, particularly in mining and construction.
It says businesses are willing to invest to expand their capacity to help meet the high levels of demand in the economy.
