Government Services Minister Bill Shorten says 150,000 passports could be replaced due to the hacking of customer data from Optus.
Mr Shorten criticised the telecommunications giant’s response to the data leak, telling Sky News Australia it had taken 23 days to get any concrete action from Optus.
“We did get a lot of progress from Optus on Monday … after there was a bit of a public rocket sent on Sunday,” he said.
“We just want to do everything we can to clean up the mess.”
