‘Wrong way to go’: Former Labor MP critical of jobs summit

Former Labor MP Michael Danby says Labor’s jobs summit is a “blockheaded way” of approaching workplace bargaining.

“The traditional role of the Labor Party … was to support enterprise bargaining, because it led to higher productivity,” he said.

“I don’t support sector-wide union bargaining, because it leads to industrial disputes.

“This is the wrong way to go.”
