Refugees must ‘make the effort’ to ‘love this country’

One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson says whoever comes to Australia must “make the effort” to become Australian and “love this country”.

The Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot program matches refugee families to a group of community volunteers, who guide the refugees for 12 months.

Ms Hanson said she thinks the program is a “great idea”.

“People in the community want to help these people, they will integrate a lot better into our communities if they receive that help from the Australian people,” she told Sky News host Chris Smith.
