Zimbabwean authorities have exhumed 31 bodies in neighbouring Mozambique who were washed away by the 2019 Cyclone Idai that devastated parts of Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe.
In Zimbabwe, the storm, subsequent flooding and landslides left more than six hundred people dead and three hundred and 47 missing and caused damage to infrastructure and community livelihoods. The Zimbabwean government says that it is now embarking on an exhumation and reburial process for some of the victims who were not properly buried during the disaster.
