Landmark climate bill passes the US House of Representatives

A landmark climate bill has passed the US House of Representatives following a marathon 27-hour session and will be sent to President Joe Biden to be signed into law.

The multibillion-dollar package promises to cut domestic greenhouse gas emissions, combat inflation and lower prescription drug prices.

“The American people are going to see lower prescription drug prices, lower health care costs and lower energy costs,” President Biden said.

“America is going to take the most aggressive action we’ve ever taken in confronting the climate crisis.”
