Teacher unions across Ghana have declared an indefinite nationwide strike over unpaid Cost of Living Allowance. Ghana’s government failed to meet a 30 June deadline set by union leaders during the course of negotiations. The government is now seeking a bailout from the International Monetary Fund to deal with its economic challenges, following a mass protest last week.
