Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Communications says it is on course to fill looming vacancies on the SABC board. The term of office for the current board expires in mid-October. However, Parliament is currently in recess for the next month and a half, with lawmakers reportedly doing constituency work. This has raised concerns in some quarters about whether the committee can recommend a new board on time.
