The rural horse racing has seen a tremendous growth since its inception in the early 2000s. Taking place for the first time Empangeni, the King Cetshwayo June Horse Racing event has given more hope to the young and aspiring Jockies from the surrounding areas.
About 110 jockeys participated in the race.
