Eskom says the current rolling blackouts could escalate to stage 3 at short notice. This as the power utility continues to battle a new round of breakdowns at some of its the coal power stations. Eskom has announced the implementation of stage 2 load shedding from today until Sunday at various times. It says that rolling blackouts were extended due to a shortage of generation capacity along with constrained diesel supply and water reserves.
