Heavy rains cause flooding in parts of Cape Town

Heavy rain has caused flooding in parts of Cape Town. The City has started its mopping-up operations amid flooding in informal settlements in the Cape Metro and surrounding areas.
Many roadways across the city have been flooded and there have been power outages due to the adverse weather. Disaster management authorities are out in affected communities.
Some of the city’s worst affected areas include informal settlements in Khayelitsha, Ottery, Langa, Strand, and Delft.
