Today is International Gin Day. It’s an opportunity for gin lovers to unite on the Garden Route in the Western Cape, and raise a glass of their favorite tipple.
While the drink may be favoured by the British, it’s Italian monks that added juniper berries to give it a unique flavour. However, Holland is credited as the birthplace of gin, and with it the saying, "Dutch courage".
