ONE SA movement wants parliament to quickly amend electoral act

One South Africa Movement activists have gathered at the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg to apply pressure on Parliament to amend the Electoral Act.The changes will allow independent candidates to run in national and provincial elections. Two years ago to the day, the Constitutional Court passed the historic judgment which would transform the country’s political landscape. Parliament, however, recently succeeded in its application to the apex court to get a six-month extension, saying the process was complex, and has potential implications on other laws.
