The recent devastating floods in KZN and the Eastern Cape have shown a better approach is needed in dealing with such disasters. Many Durban residents say if eThekwini municipality had given them an early warning, they might have prepared better for the floods. But climate scientist, Francois Engelbrecht, says there should rather be more education around climate change as early weather warning signs are not enough.
