Senzo Meyiwa murder trial continues in the High Court in Pretoria

The defence lawyer for four of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is expected to wrap up the cross-examination of the first state witness, Sergeant Thabo Mosia, when the matter resumes in the High Court in Pretoria today.

Mosia spent the better part of yesterday in the witness box, being grilled about the possible contamination of the crime scene where the star goalkeeper was gunned down in Vosloorus, south-east of Johannesburg at the mother’s home of his girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo, in 2014.

Defence counsel Malesela Teffo told the court he would bring evidence that contradicted the state’s version of where Meyiwa died as well as the weapon used to shoot him.

Chriselda Lewis is standing by with an update.
