As the spate of violence against women and children in the country remains at high levels, the Social Development Department in Worcester in the Cape Winelands District Municipality has urged the community to use its Child Protection Services. The department says it is faced with severe cases of child neglect, abuse, abandonment and teenage pregnancy. In addition, Statistics South Africa has found that over 34-thousand teenagers gave birth in 2020 in the country.
