DA accuses Executive Mayor of Renosterberg municipality of negligence

The DA in the Northern Cape has opened a case of contravening the national water act against Renosterberg Municipality Executive Mayor and municipal manager at Vanderkloof police station. The party accuses the two of negligence pertaining to sewer spillage into Vanderkloof dam. The municipality has been in the news of late after Eskom attached its bank account because the municipality owes millions of rand of electricity bills. The attachment of the account has led to the municipality not being able to pay workers’ salaries and service delivery collapsing. DA provincial leader Harold Mcgluwa elaborates.
