Police Commissioner, Fanie Masemola, admitted the SAPS is spread far too thin. In fact, he believes the service should be doubled from the current 150, 000 to at least 300, 000. Add to that the problems of corruption, inadequate skills and resources within the police, it’s not surprising how lawless parts of the country have become.
