The Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa is calling on the government to make Ancestors’ Day, on 8 May, a public holiday to honour and observe African spirituality. The organisation’s Secretary-General Zolani Mkiva says the day will be dedicated to reflection, prayer, and appeasement of the ancestors. He discussed this with eNCA’s Silindelo Masikane.
